Is your animal friend acting a bit out of sorts and you’re worried an illness or injury may be to blame?

When a family pet is sick, it can be frustrating not being able to tell what’s wrong. In many cases, even a thorough physical exam isn’t enough to get the answers we need. That’s why veterinary diagnostics are so important. When we can see what’s happening inside your pet’s body, we can stay on top of his or her health.

At Collingswood Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care, we utilize a number of tools, like lab work and x-rays, to help us achieve accurate diagnoses. The sooner we gather the information we need, the better the outcome for your pet.

Diagnostic Laboratory

Many of the ailments that affect our animal friends can be detected through lab work, like blood tests, parasite detection and urinalysis. Collingswood Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care features modern lab equipment, which allows our experienced doctors to run the necessary tests in a timely manner. In many cases, we can have results within just moments. This allows us to address the problem at hand quickly and efficiently. Our in-house laboratory is particularly beneficial for sick, emergency and critical care cases.

Digital Radiology

Animals are masters at hiding the signs of illness or injury. Radiology, or x-ray imaging, lets our doctors look inside your pet without the need for invasive measures. We use x-rays to evaluate the bones and assess the condition of the internal organs. We can also use this imaging technique to identify foreign objects that a pet may have accidently ingested. Best of all, because the radiology we use is digital, it’s much safer and more effective. Images can be analyzed immediately or shared via email if we feel the opinion of a specialist is needed.

Your pet can’t speak to let us know what’s wrong. Veterinary diagnostics can be like a voice that helps us better manage his or her health. If you suspect your companion may be sick or hurt in some way, contact us right away.
